NEW SOUTH WALES NSW 1905-10 1/2d. Die I and Die II Se-Tenant In Pane of 48

$ 115.63

Description

1905 - 1910  1/2d. blue green.  Pane of 48 (6x8) showing Jubilee line removed between rows 3 and 4 to allow for replacement of heavily worn cliches. By mistake stamp 24 is a Die I cliche in stead of Die II cliche. A still unrecorded variety in Gibbons. Pane has overall gum toning on reverse and some perf. reinforcements. A wonderful positional piece. SG 333b.
This pane ex A.F. Bassett Hull collection, parts of which I purchased in 1965.
Bassett Hull wrote and edited the massive 2 volume work on the stamps and postal cards of New South Wales in 1911 for the RPSL.
Showpiece.
